What is Science and What are Scientific Methods

Q: What is Science?

A: Science (from Latin scientia, meaning "knowledge") is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe. In an older and closely related meaning, "science" also refers to a body of knowledge itself, of the type that can be rationally explained and reliably applied. We study science in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the world around us and beyond. Understanding the 'how' and 'why' of things has helped humans develop cures for diseases, protect wildlife and plant life, predict and prepare for climate extremes, send men to the moon and so much more.

Q: What are Scientific Methods?

A: The scientific method is a body of techniques for investigating phenomena , acquiring new knowledge, or correcting and integrating previous knowledge. To be termed scientific, a method of inquiry must be based on empirical and measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning.
